About last night!

What a fantastic Wool Week Welcome to kick off ShetlandWoolWeek 2024! The Islesburgh Toories were out in full force, with so many stunning colours and designs. It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones too.

Claire White officially opened the event, and we heard inspiring words from our Chief Executive Hazel Sutherland, SWW curator Donna Smith, and this year’s patrons, @Addie, Margaret and Anne and family.

The Northmavine UHA squad surprised us all with a brilliant performance of the Galley Song, and Shetland Trad band Vair had everyone’s feet tapping with their lively tunes!

Photographer Chris Morphet, whose exhibition ALLOVER is on at the Shetland Museum  was presented with his vintage Fair Isle vest—beautifully restored by Freya Hunter. A very special moment.

Big thanks to our sponsors for the fabulous prizes, and here’s to a wonderful woolly week ahead!
