SWW tickets are on sale now!

A reminder to you all that tickets for this year’s Shetland Wool Week event are now on sale on our new Shetland Wool Week Box Office

Helpline information – we have a dedicated helpline set up this afternoon (Wednesday) from 14:00 – 17:00 (BST). The number is +44 (0)1595 741555 please only use this if you have a problem with your online booking. Ordering tickets by phone will not speed up the process as you will still need to join the online queue.

We really hope you can get tickets to your chosen events but if you’re not successful, please don’t despair. Many classes are limited to small numbers to give a more personal experience so don’t be too disappointed if you don’t get your first choice. There are plenty of other classes and woolly related activities going on throughout the week, many of which are free. It’s also a good idea to leave space in your schedule to explore Shetland, attend drop-in events and have time to sit, chat and connect with fellow Wool Weekers.

Remember, too, that once you’re here there will be the SWW Hub, located in the Shetland Museum in Lerwick, where you will be able to swap tickets, find out about sharing lifts, meet new friends and relax.

SWW 2024 Programme
The 2024 programme is available to download now – if you haven’t seen it go and take a look. Alongside the usual offerings, there are some exciting new add-ons for you to enjoy – we hope you find something to tempt you!

Addition to the programmeone class didn’t quite make it into the programme – but it will be on the Box Office.

Fixing Mistakes in Lace with Anne Eunson and Elizabeth Johnston
Hoswick Visitor Centre
Tuesday 1 October | 09:45 – 12:45
Spaces: 12 | Cost: £60
Intermediate level |Homework required

Wouldn’t it be good NOT to HAVE to – frog, rip back, tink or frog to a life line – ‘spret’ as we say in Shetland? Frogging to a life line will probably be taking out rows that were knitted correctly. Adding to that, ‘spretting’ is not really good for your yarn, and means that you are knitting those rows twice! Join Anne and Elizabeth to learn how to fix mistakes a different way. At times we do ‘pull the wires’ as we say and pull back a few rows – sometimes you just have to. The class will also cover picking up those stitches, across a lace pattern, without a lifeline.

You can get in touch with us if you have any Box Office / programme queries, but bear in mind we are a very small team!

Thank you again for your support and we look forward to welcoming you in September.
